What is Baptism?

Water baptism is an outward expression of a believer's faith in Christ. It shows that we have trusted Jesus with our lives and for our salvation.

Jesus was baptized when he was here on Earth and when we do this, we are following the example that he set.

Submersion in water represents the death and burial of Jesus as well as us putting to death our old way of living. Rising from the water represents his resurrection and the new life that he has given us.

Romans 6:4

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Hebrews 10:22

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
